All Saints’ College graduate picks up UWA Fogarty Foundation scholarship

All Saints’ College graduate Luke Barber has become the school’s sixth recipient of a UWA Fogarty Foundation scholarship in the past seven years.

The Fogarty Foundation Leadership Program provides financial support to university scholars, as well as mentoring and learning opportunities from its global network.

Mr Barber said he Luke was honoured to join a line of impressive and accomplished past program participants.

“The experience so far has been a humbling one, and I have had the opportunity to expand my network to include some extremely rounded and influential individuals already,” Luke said.

All Saints’ College Principal Belinda Provis, said was proud of Mr Barber and the five other past students who have also been recognised by the Foundation.

“Luke was an incredible and dedicated student here at All Saints’ College and he deserved this recognition,” she said.

“Our teaching and learning program enables students to reach their full potential – be it a university or a general pathway.”

Mr Barber has also been selected as a convenor of the 2017 Fogarty Futures Leadership Conference, following the tradition of having two first year scholars organise this seminar each year.

Mr Barber is studying a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) majoring in Political Science and International Relations and Economics, while also possessing an assured pathway to study law at The University of Western Australia.

Previous Fogarty recipients from All Saints’ College include Ben Chia (2015), Theodore Kenworthy-Groen (2015), Christian Long (2014), Mark Shelton (2012) and Rebecca Long (2011).
