FAQs
All Saints’ Swimming Club offers a comprehensive Squad and Learn to Swim Program in state-of-the-art facilities at the All Saints’ Aquatic Centre. Located within the All Saints’ College grounds in Bull Creek, access to the Aquatic Centre is via Gate One off Ewing Avenue.
The Club’s Squad and Learn to Swim Program is open to both college and non-college families and accommodates children from the age of four. Club members have access to a heated eight-lane 25 metre pool and a heated 10 metre learn to swim pool. Senior swimmers also have supervised access to a fully equipped gym. All Saints’ College Swimming Teams (both Junior and Senior School) train at the Centre. The senior school swimming team has consistently finished in the top three schools in the A-grade Catholic and Independent Schools’ Swimming Championships for the past 10 years.
Squad Program
The Club’s Squad Program is designed to cater for swimmers with a wide range of abilities and aspirations, from those who wish to swim for fitness to those who wish to swim competitively in Swimming WA and Swimming Australia sanctioned events. Our squads range from Development Squad up to our Senior High Performance Squad.
Members of both our Junior and Senior High Performance Squads compete at State and National Level. Development Squad and Squad Levels 1,2 & 3 are ideally suited for swimmers who wish to achieve good results in inter-house and interschool competitions and who show an interest in competing in external competitions. Squads, with the exception of Transition Squad, train year round.
Learn To Swim
Our Learn To Swim Program is open to swimmers from the age of four and caters for beginners (Level One) up to those swimmers ready to enter the squad program (Level 9). The program teaches water familiarisation, safety skills and stroke development. Our focus in lower levels is to teach children to be both safe and confident in the water. Lessons start in our 10m Learn to Swim pool and progress to our 25m pool. There is a strong emphasis on the development of competitive swimming strokes and skills.
The introduction of the four competitive swimming strokes can be challenging for young swimmers and parents should expect them to take some time to develop and master the skills they need to progress through the continuum. We take into account that swimmers will progress at different rates and class sizes are kept small to enable swimmers to move through the continuum at a rate appropriate to their ability.
Learn to Swim classes run on weekday afternoons from 3.35pm to 5.35pm and on Saturday mornings from 8.00am to 10.00am. Enrolment is on a first come first served basis and terms closely follow school term dates. Vacation Swimming Programs and Specialist Stroke Clinics are run during the school holidays.
Assessments
All swimmers (other than complete beginners) will need to be assessed prior to entering our program for the first time to ensure that they are placed in a level commensurate with their ability. Assessments for both Squad and Learn to Swim are held on weekday afternoons at 3.35pm and on Saturday mornings between 9.30am and 10.30am.
Appointments are required for an assessment. If you wish to make an appointment for an assessment please contact our Learn to Swim Coordinator, Mrs Ulrike Kesners on 9313 9386 or email Ulrike.Kesners@allsaints.wa.edu.au
