Former Prime Minister visits All Saints’

Students, parents and community had the opportunity on Thursday evening to hear Mr John Howard OM, AC, provide a unique insight and thoughtful analysis into Menzies; the man, the politician, and the legacy. Year 11 student, Jordanna Petersen, and Principal, Belinda Provis, extended a warm welcome to Mr Howard and then joined over 400 guests in the CPA for an informative conversation with Paul Murray. Held the day after Mr Gough Whitlam’s memorial service, teacher, Mr Tim Brown, said it was a wonderful opportunity for the P&L students to hear from one of Australia’s greatest statesmen and gain a direct insight into the world of politics.  Jordanna said it was a special moment to speak with someone who had shaped the direction of Australia and who also valued a stable home life, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and sticking by the tough decisions necessary during his leadership.

Mr Howard’s visit was organised in partnership with Dymocks Garden City and provided a valuable opportunity for authors to speak with students and the local community about their writing. It complements the ASC Storylines Literature Festival which will run for its 14th year on 5-6 March 2015.
