ACC Swimming Carnival – Blue Horizons: Future of Swimming
The ACC Swimming Squad have worked extremely hard this term in preparation for the ACC ‘A’ Division Swimming Carnival which was held at HBF Stadium on Wednesday 26 March. There are 88 schools is the ACC competition and to qualify for ‘A’ division, participating schools must be in the top 8. This in itself is an amazing effort to be proud of considering we are up against much larger schools that specialise in swimming.
The increase in numbers at training and cocurricular swimming this year has been significant. This has created a really positive environment and community feel, as we build on a positive swimming culture that welcomes everyone.
With a team of 115 students and 2 major preparation events before the carnival, the Swimming Coordinators rely heavy on the students involved being committed, organised and responsible. As always, the students were wonderful in the way they represented themselves and the College, as they balanced kickboards and textbooks.
We are grateful to Mr Tom Stachewicz (Director of Swimming) and the HPE staff for coaching the team and a big thank you must also go to our 2025 Swimming Captain, Zoe Stachewicz, who has been working hard to promote and improve swimming at ASC.
It is an honour to be selected to represent the College at the ACC Swimming Carnival and all team members should be extremely proud of their achievements throughout the entire swimming season. We look forward to next season as we continue to build and develop swimming at ASC.
