Heritage Week: Recognising Influential People Over Time

All Saints’ College is celebrating Heritage Week across this week and next, shining a spotlight on the influential people who have shaped the school community over time. This year’s theme, 'Influential People Over Time,' recognises the leaders whose contributions have left a lasting legacy.

To mark the occasion, the campus has been adorned with decals on key buildings, each honouring a significant figure in the College’s history. Inside the CPA foyer, a heritage display showcases key moments and milestones, offering a deeper look at the people behind the College’s evolution.

The week kicked off with a walking tour for Year 5 students, guided by All Saints’ Heritage Coordinator Mr John Beaverstock. The tour took students around the campus to learn more about the influential figures commemorated in the decals, such as Foundation Principal Eric Speed, who led the College from 1979 to 1987. Under his leadership, enrolments grew from 60 to several hundred students, and a fully elected Student Council was introduced in 1981.

Another prominent figure recognised is Anthony London, who served as Principal from 1987 to 2000. During his tenure, the College’s student body expanded significantly, and major building projects, including the Chapel and Music/Drama Centre, were undertaken.

Over the next two weeks, students across junior school will participate in activities designed to engage them with the College’s history. These include a colouring competition for Early Childhood classrooms, a Years 3 and 4 jigsaw puzzle event, and a series of assemblies where Mr John Beaverstock will address both Junior and Senior School students.

The celebrations will culminate with the highly anticipated Old Saints vs. students sports match on the final day of Heritage Week, a way to recognise the enduring connections between past and present members of the All Saints’ community.

We look forward to celebrating the legacies of those who have shaped All Saints’ College over time.
