Introducing our 2025 College Captains Kanin and Chloe

We are delighted to announce that Year 11 students Kanin Hoar and Chloe Glass have been elected to represent the College as the College Captains for 2025. We congratulate them on this significant achievement and eagerly anticipate the positive impact they will have in the upcoming academic year.

Kanin writes:

"I find it truly fascinating to occasionally look back on the journey I’ve walked and see just how much I’ve grown and developed throughout my time at All Saints’ College. From starting as a somewhat anxious but excited seven-year-old joining All Saints' in 2014 to now, still trying to process the fact that I’ll be one of the College Captains for 2025! However, I’ve learned what separates me from my younger self is the path I’ve walked since and all the highlights and obstacles I’ve encountered along the way.

My time at the College will forever be a significant aspect of my journey. Over the years, the All Saints’ community has acted as my strongest supportive network, allowing me to feel comfortable making mistakes, learning from them and encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone and embrace the ample opportunities here at the College.

It was here that I met my closest mates, and I explored and discovered some of my most beloved passions, including the Performing Arts. A platform where self-expression, imagination and innovation are something I feel connected to and truly resonate with.

It was also here that I embraced many leadership opportunities where I thrived and flourished alongside my incredible peers. Over the years, I’ve learned every single All Saints’ student shares a collective strength, which is our community. Being a part of a community that recognises and praises the achievements of each other, an accepting community that strives together through the support and strength of each other is truly something special, which makes me exceptionally proud to call myself an All Saints’ student.

As College Captains, Chloe and I hope to give back to this incredible, diverse community and make a positive difference in our world, just as this year’s exceptional College Captains, Katie and Cam, and all those before us, have done.

Above all, I want to be someone who leaves behind a notable legacy here at the College, someone who the College and its members can be proud of, someone who is a positive role model who embodies the values and spirit of the College and carries it with them, regardless of wherever their journey takes them.

I eagerly look forward to continuing my journey and discovering all the excitement and challenges 2025 has to offer, and I aspire to be a College Captain who inspires those around me and encourages individuality, positivity, enthusiasm and excellence for all students at the College."

Chloe writes:

"I can honestly say that, until now, Year 12 and the end of school have always seemed like a distant reality. However, I’ve recently realised that this milestone is approaching faster than we might expect. 2025 once felt like a far-off future, but now seems imminent as we approach the end of 2024.

As I approach my final year at the College, it’s incredible to reflect on my time here and acknowledge the changes both within and around me. It feels surreal to think back to my first day at ASC, stepping into my Year 5 class without knowing a single person. It’s hard to believe that the small, terrified and apprehensive person who entered that classroom in 2018 is the same person I am today. At first, the College seemed like a maze of buildings and students, but it’s what I and many others have grown to know as our second home. It has given me lifelong friendships that can never be replaced and so much more. It’s given me a second family, and for that I’ll always be grateful.

The College community has shown me that there is a world beyond the classroom and academics, and there is more to life than each grade and test. It’s given me countless once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, such as last year on the French Linguistic Exchange trip. In France I was exposed to a whole culture and country. It was education that you can’t receive in a classroom. It was a period of growth and friendship that I will never forget and will be forever grateful for. I owe my personal journey of growth to our College community, which has taught me the importance of being true to myself and my values.

The College has been the place where I’ve embraced leadership opportunities, where I learnt that by working collaboratively in a team anything can be achieved. Each year the College Captains have contributed to making this College a special place. They are more than just individuals who speak at assemblies; they are friendly and kind, and create a positive impact wherever they go. They’ve taught me that leadership involves more than delivering speeches; it’s about working with others to achieve goals by motivating and empowering each other. I am fortunate to be working with Kanin, and I hope we can together uphold the high standards set by those who came before us.

During my time as College Captain and throughout my final year at the College, I want to make a positive impact with everything I do and wish to give back to a community that has shown me and taught me so much. All Saints’ has had a phenomenal impact on my journey as a person so far, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 holds. I am honoured to be one of your 2025 College Captains. I look forward to embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with this role and making a positive impact within our college community together."

We wish Kanin and Chloe the best on their journey as College Captains and look forward to their contribution to the College.
