Mathematical Excellence at the WA Junior Mathematics Olympiad
Twelve of All Saints’ College’s brightest mathematicians recently took part in the West Australian Junior Mathematics Olympiad, a prestigious competition designed for the state’s most capable students in Year 9 or below.

The Olympiad brings together talented young thinkers from schools across Western Australia to tackle complex problem-solving challenges that test logic, reasoning and creativity.
We are proud to share that Darsh (Year 9) and Shyann (Year 7) both achieved individual prizes at the event. Remarkably, Shyann earned a perfect score of 40/40 — one of only three students to do so — and was awarded the Cheryl Praeger Prize for Excellence. Achieving this result as a Year 7 student is an extraordinary accomplishment.
Adding to the success, the College’s team of Year 9 student Ethan, Year 8 students Yi An and Ryan, and Shyann in year 7 received the award for Most Outstanding Year 9 Team with a score of 165/220.
These achievements reflect our students’ dedication, collaboration and passion for mathematics, made all the more impressive given that the competition is designed for Year 9 students.
The College extends its gratitude to Ms Monique Ellement and Ms Hannah Mast for their guidance and encouragement in preparing the students for this event.
