New Retractable Seating Transforms Upper Theatre Experience

There’s a new buzz in the Upper Theatre at the College, where students and staff are now enjoying the comfort and versatility of brand-new retractable seating. This exciting upgrade has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the All Saints’ College Foundation—a community effort that truly makes a difference.

This upgrade not only improves comfort but also adds flexibility and professionalism to the theatre space, ensuring it continues to be a vibrant hub for performances, learning, and collaboration across the College community.

Skye Hegarty, our Director of Arts and Director of HotHouse Company, shared how much this means to the whole College community. “This upgrade will have a huge impact on the experience of both performers and audiences,” said Skye. “The new seating enhances professionality and flexibility, allowing us to make even better use of this creative space.”

At its heart, the Foundation is about more than just funding projects—it’s about supporting the very experiences that make College life special by funding projects that directly benefit students and staff. Established to nurture a culture of philanthropy within the College community, the Foundation invests in initiatives that elevate learning experiences, improve facilities, and open new doors for future generations.

This latest theatre upgrade is one of many ways the Foundation helps to create a dynamic environment where students can thrive, explore their talents, and engage deeply with the arts. With ongoing support from donors and alumni, the College continues to build a strong foundation for inspiring education and creative excellence.
