We celebrated Languages Week from 29 July to 2 August, with students enjoying many activities throughout the week to celebrate French and Chinese culture.
The first activity showcased the French language, doubling as a tribute to the Olympics. Students wrote about their favourite Olympian and tested their skills by writing in French. These tributes are displayed in Nexus-S.
During lunch break, students explored their Chinese calligraphy skills, mastering the strokes of intricate characters. They also showed off their Tai Chi moves and battled it out in a friendly chopstick competition. Students also enjoyed the bubble tea van, which was a very popular addition to our celebrations.
We wrapped up a successful Languages Week with French culture. Students were immersed in the lively atmosphere of a bustling French street café at the photobooth, while others competed for the most flips at the crêpe flipping competition. The crêpe van was extremely popular, with lots of happy students enjoying their delicious French dessert! Students also enjoyed a tasting of the classic French beverage Orangina, accompanied by the immersive sounds of ASC's Jazz trio.
We hope all students enjoyed Languages Week and learned something new about French and Chinese culture!
