Tuesday, 16 January

9.00am–12.00pm

AEROSPACE ENGINEERING – UP, UP AND AWAY! presented by Australian Engineering for Kids (Ages 9-12).  During this Aerospace Engineering class, participants will use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a variety of flying machines. They will construct a shock absorbing system designed to protect two marshmallow astronauts in a lunar vehicle, create their own air-powered rockets, and assemble a model blimp that actually takes flight! Cost: $60.00

YOUTH PARKOUR with Perth Parkour (All Ages). Parkour is an attitude and training method for movement through any environment at speed. The concept is to overcome all physical and mental obstacles in your path by using your body and mind to run, climb, jump and vault. Perth Parkour will teach you the basics of Parkour and will promote a positive understanding and awareness. This youth parkour workshop is open to participants of all skill levels, beginners are welcome. Cost: $30.00

DOUGHNUT BOUQUET & DRIP CAKE presented by Lyn from My Delicious (All Ages) SOLD OUT. Should you say it with flowers or should you say it with Doughnuts? You will make doughnuts from scratch and then make your very own doughnut bouquet to give that special someone in your life! You will then use the doughnuts you made to decorate a cake that is dripping with doughnut fun! Drips cakes are the trend! Your cake will be your empty canvas to create a beautiful chocolate ganache drip cake, putting your own stamp on it and coming up with your own style. No previous experience necessary, bring along an apron and be prepared for a morning of fun! Cost: $50.00

1.00pm – 4.00pm

INDOOR ROCK CLIMBING AND ABSEILING with Adventure Out (All Ages) SOLD OUT. Learn rock climbing and abseiling in a safe and comfortable environment. Experience the thrill of taking that step backwards! Experienced Instructors from Adventure Out will provide all the supervision in this thrill seeking activity.  Cost: $40.00

BEHIND THE SCENES: SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKE-UP FOR MOVIES presented by Make-Up Magic (All Ages). Do you want to learn “Behind the scenes of Film & TV” make up? Make-up artist Marian will share her skills with you. While makeup is often used in film to make actors and actresses look more beautiful, it can also be used to make them look scary! Participants will spend time using cosmetics and appliances to create the appearance of bruises, cuts, blood, old age and more!  Students will also have the chance to apply make up on each other! All materials provided! Cost:  $45.00

EMOJI CAKE WORKSHOP (All Ages). “A small digital image or icon to express an idea or emotion in electronic communication”! Wait, you said “electronic communication”! Not in this workshop! This adorable Emoji Cake is your canvas! You will get to recreate your favorite emoji expressions in mini cake form!  No previous experience necessary, bring along an apron and be prepared for an afternoon of fun! Cost $50.00

MINECRAFT CAMP with MINDBUZZ 9.00am – 3.00pm (Ages 9 -14). Minecraft camps are designed to be exciting engaging and a safe and fun place to make friends and learn new skills. Students learn server commands which are the building blocks of coding and advanced computing. All participants receive a camper lanyard, a 20-page workbook and one month access to the safe server following the camp so participants can continue playing with their new friends. Students are welcome to bring own mouse (one will be provided but sometimes participants have their own awesome gaming mouses) and if they like to listen to the game music, they can bring headphones.  Book early for this workshop for children of ALL Minecraft skill levels. Cost: $80.00

Wednesday, 17 January

JUNK PUPPETS – working with Spare Parts Puppet Theatre (Ages 9-13).  Utilising recycled materials along with wire, glue and loads of imagination, participants create fantastical creature puppets from junk. Combining problem solving skills, technology and construction principals of puppetry design. Cost: $40.00

CHEMICAL ENGINEERING: MIX IT UP presented by Australian Engineering for Kids (All Ages). During this Chemical Engineering workshop, participants will use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine various mixtures and solutions with different chemical properties. They will develop solutions to clean up an oil spill, synthesize their own rocket fuel, and investigate the secrets behind colour pigmentation! Cost $60.00

CANDY BOX CAKE & CANDY GRAVITY CUPCAKES WORKSHOP with Lyn from My Delicious (All Ages). Be inspired to create the ULTIMATE in candy cakes!  Start with a sponge, place chocolate around the edges, and then fill with your favourite lollies! In addition to this, you will also be making your own gravity defying cupcake masterpieces! Lyn will guide participants as they make masterpieces of illusion and their very own Candy Box Cake. The hardest part will be refraining from sampling all the toppings before putting them on your cake!  No previous experience necessary but remember to bring an apron! Cost: $50.00.

1.00pm – 4.00pm

PERFORMING WITH PUPPETS – working with Spare Parts Puppet Theatre (Ages 9 – 13) 1.00PM – 3.00PM. Acting, story creation, puppet manipulation and play.  This workshop introduces children to performance skills through improvisation and storytelling and is a great addition to a puppet making workshop or enjoy using our professionally made collection of puppets. Cost: $40.00

CIRCUS SKILLS with Chris from Circus Sports Australia (All Ages). Have you dreamed of running away with the circus? Circus Sports Australia offers everything in this workshop from acrobatics, aerial trapeze, aerial silk, tight-wire, partner and group circus balancing pyramids, juggling, hula hoops, poi, flower sticks, stilt walking, unicycling and will also incorporate a self-devised student performance at the end of the workshop from all participants! Cost: $60.00

LEGO® REMOTE CONTROL MANIA WORKSHOP (All Ages). “Making it move” is the name of the game at this exciting workshop! Participants will love to see their creations in motion using LEGO® wireless remote controls. In this interactive workshop, participants will use fascinating and challenging LEGO® components to create dynamic vehicles, inventions, machines and more. As participants enjoy the fun of building, they will also get a good understanding of the basic working principles of many ingenious devices that are part of our everyday lives. This workshop is loads of fun and learning for budding builders! Cost: $35.00

INDIAN CURRY COOKING CLASS: HOME WITH THE SHARMAS’ (Ages 13-17). Do you want to learn how to make a mouthwatering Chicken Curry that will taste amazing? In this hands-on Indian cooking class you will be able to do just that and more!  In addition to this, will also be making an Indian styled rice, lentil dahl (suitable for both vegetarians and vegans) and as it is summer, a very tasty veggie curd raita! This class will provide you with the ultimate culinary experience and give you the skills to create delicious Indian meals at home! Cost:$90.00

3D PRINTING: TINKERVERSE! SUPERHEROES TO THE RESCUE presented by Australian Engineering for Kids (Ages 9-12) Participants will explore how 3D printers work and how 3D designs are created. They will use 3Doodler® pens to illustrate the basic concepts of taking an object from 2D to 3D. Mastering The Tinkerverse!: The most important part of 3D printing is creating an electronic 3D model of the object to be printed. To create an electronic 3D model that can be printed by a 3D printer, participants will use an online computer-assisted design program called Tinkercad. In addition to this, participants will explore the concepts of rotation, scaling and translating an object inside the virtual world of Tinkercad to create more complex 3D designs. Your child will design and create their own superhero’s sigil in Tinkercad that will be mounted on a handle to be used as a stamp! Cost:  $90.00

BARISTA TRAINING, AFFOGATO & CHOCOLATE DIPPING SPOONS – with Michael Snadden  (Ages 13 – 17) Cappuccino? Flat white? Perhaps an Ice Cookie Chai?  Join this FULL DAY workshop as Michael guides you in the morning as you learn or freshen up your skills making classic espresso coffee production. In the afternoon, you will enjoy creating and making your own herbal tea bags, protein balls, slices and fudge! Gain the skills and knowledge needed to prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages and be prepared for that café or restaurant job! Learn how to operate a commercial espresso machine. All ingredients and equipment are provided. A Certificate of Completion will be presented at the conclusion of the workshop.  Great for your CV! Cost: $100.00

CHEERLEADING with TNT All Stars (All Ages) TNT All Stars is Perth’s premier Cheerleading Gym! Cheerleading is one of the fastest growing sports in the world bringing together aspects of gymnastics, dance and acrobatics. If your child loves any of these, then this cheerleading workshop is perfect for your daughter or son! Participants will be taught the basics of cheerleading first and then once confident will move onto more difficult things. The workshop will conclude with a short performance! Participants of all skill levels welcome!  Cost: $75

GAME VAULT & ULTIMATE SLOTRACER EXPERIENCE – (All Ages). Step inside the mobile gaming bus, geared for a ton of school holiday fun! This mobile video theatre provides a unique social video gaming experience. Enjoy their mammoth range of games available! In addition to this, you will also race your own slot race car. This custom made mobile digital slot car track will be everything your car enthusiast son/daughter dreamt of! Two teams will enjoy comprehensive lap times, race standings all displayed while driving as well as running commentary. Drivers will also be able to change lanes for overtaking, pull into a pit lane for more fuel and so much MORE!  Be part of the winning team!  Cost: $75.00

REFUND POLICY: Whilst every effort is made to run workshops as publicised, on occasion changes to workshop, location and presenter of a workshop may need to be made.  All Saints’ College reserves the right to make these changes.  If you are unable to attend, notice must be given five days before the commencement of program to receive a refund.  If a workshop is cancelled by All Saints’ College, we will refund your money in full.

 

Code Camp for Years 2-7

The College has partnered with Code Camp to lead an exciting workshop for students in Years 2-7. Code Camp have already taught more than 22 000 students in Australia in Years 2-7, teaching them important skills such as computational thinking, logic, creativity, user experience, app development and game building in a fun and engaging way.

These January School Holidays, Code Camp is facilitating the Spark Workshop – a fun, engaging and challenging Code Camp which more than 10 000 students have completed. Spark is where every student in Years 2-7 should start their Code Camp journey!

In addition to Spark, Code Camp is also running the Ignite Workshop – for students ready to take your coding skills to the next level. Ignite is for those who have conquered Code Camp Spark or who already have a lot of coding experience elsewhere. Build your own top-down adventure game with heaps of mini-games and fun features!
